God
is Sovereign
In the midst of the chaotic situation in our
family during the holiday season, God is sovereign, He will never forget His
promise of household salvation. He is faithful in His choosing. His gospel
overthrows the stronghold of men. Under the sovereign arrangement of our Lord,
My daughter was baptized into the Triune God on December 27, 1999. Ephesians 4:
8 says " He led captive those taken captive" in His triumphant
procession for a celebration of Christ's victory over Satan, sin and death to
display His multifarious wisdom of God not only in this age but also in the age
to come, Hallelujah! God is bound by two unchangeable things - His promise and
His oath. It is impossible for God to lie - His promise is supported by His
oath which is Himself. Everything will be accomplished in due time, therefore,
we can flee to God to lay hold of the hope set before us. (Heb 6:17-18).
During this time, Satan is working his best in my husband in accusation and
putting doubts in his mind concerning the Church. We recognized the strategy of
Satan by making us lose heart in the Lord. My two children and I prayed
desperately to the Lord to deliver Satan into the lake of fire. Praise the
Lord, He is faithful, His presence was with us. Outwardly, we experience the
breaking down of our outer men, inwardly we experience life and peace. Through
this family ordeal, God has gained us a little bit more and brought us one step
further in our pursuit of the Lord. Our following of our Lord is not by sight
but by faith. Indeed, He is the author and perfector of our faith in all
situations and circumstances. The bible says, in nothing we will be put to
shame. Everything that is not related to His economy - Christ and the Church
will be put to shame. "For our momentary lightness of affliction works out
for us, more and more surpassingly, an eternal weight of glory, Because we do
not regard the things which are seen but the things which are not seen; for the
things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are
eternal." (2 Cor. 4:17-18). (LT - 2000-01-03)
Salvation
I arrived in Vancouver on August 5, 1996. I
came with my husband to Ottawa on July 4, 1997. I am now living in a senior
residence. I would like to share my feelings after believing into the Lord. I
was baptized on October 18, 1998 and entered into the light. I did not know the
Lord Jesus before. Neither did I read the Bible. One of my friends brought me
to the church in Ottawa and there I believed into the Lord. Gradually I started
to know the Lord Jesus in a deep way through the Bible and the fellowship with
the brothers and sisters.
The divine life grows in me and I live in the flow of the living water from the
Lord. There has been a big change in me and in my family life. My husband and I
have been married for more than 40 years and we have spent much time quarreling
with each other because we both have quick tempers. Through reading the Bible
and fellowshipping with the brothers and sisters, I know women should love
their husbands as well as the husbands their wives. This is one principle of
God. At first I could not control myself so I started to call on the name of
the Lord. I asked the Lord to cleanse me with His precious blood and to
regulate me. My temper is gone now and I live everyday in the flow of the
living water from the Lord. Only by living in the flow I feel peace and joy in
my living. Now my husband and I love each other as when we first fell in love.
I used to have stomach and heart problems and needed to take medication often.
After I believed into the Lord, I felt so peaceful and joyful that I did not
realize that my health also improved. It has been some time that I have not
taken any medication for my heart and stomach conditions. The Lord is the best
doctor and He is almighty. He cherishes and nourishes me whenever I call on His
name.
Although I have not seen my Lord, I love Him indeed. Although I have nothing, I
have received inexhaustible grace from Him. The Lord is too precious to me and
as the true and living Spirit He operates in me. I truthfully wish those of you
who have not believed into the Lord to come and enter into the light of the
Lord Jesus. Let us enjoy together the blessing He bestowed on us freely. (SL -

Baptism
I went to Montreal on Dec. 27, to join the
1999 Winter Camp. I didn't think it would be much fun, but to my surprise I had
a great time after all. I arrived late, so I missed a few activities. All of
the members were very giving there. I had a very good time and I learned many
new things as well. On the second day, we went skiing at Mt. Orford and we all
enjoyed it very much. Most of all I am very happy because I got baptized in
Montreal Dec. 28, 1999, my new birthday. I am now regenerated; a new born
sister in Christ.
I met many new brothers and sisters who loved the Lord very much and were kind
and generous. They all helped and supported me on my journey. This winter camp
made my holiday one that I could never forget. (EH - 1999-12-28)
