The Gospel Life - Declaring The Divine Economy
The Greek word for gospel is eúangélion, which is composed of eu and angel. The meaning of eu is good and the meaning of angel is news; the meaning of the word gospel is good news. eu comes from ago, the meaning of ago is leading; which tells us that the good news will produce an operation and leading. It also needs the listeners to have a response, to have an ability to follow and to have a living within the gospel.
eúangélion in ancient times is a special event which speaks of a king's reigning and holy governing. It speaks of the birth and the enthronement of a king and the coming of a new era. This is a joyful good news because the content of it will bring in a harvest year, such as, the protection and healing of the people and will also bring in a prosperous and shining future. This good news is also God's economy.
eúangélion speaks forth of the sacrifice and the feast for this hopeful new era. this is Jesus Christ Himself. He is our sacrifice, which brings us closer to God. He is also the reality of our feast, which allows us to enjoy the dispensing of His divine life so we can build up His kingdom.
